You can get some carbs, but make sure they are only lightly processed with lots of bran like high fiber cereals, real whole grain bread and brown rice. The bran fiber you eat, keeps your food from sitting around in your gut by being indigestible, which keeps food on the move, makes you feel full with less calories and keeps you regular. In addition to bran, steamed vegetables, beans and fruit add fiber as well without many calories and aid in the digestion of lean meats. Sodium reduction is a good idea, but having no sodium wouldn't be good If you are active and sweat a lot during exercise. Other than that stay away from tasty, fatty foods and drink lots of water!
